| Title: | The Spice of Life! | |
| Location: | Viale Cesare Pavese, Rome |

| Description: | Whisky and Indian food. Scots love Indian food - 'curry' is more or less the Scottish national dish nowadays - and Indians love Scotch whisky - indeed India represents the biggest whisky market in the world. The concept of 'Indian food' is hard to define - the country is vast and varied and its array of dishes likewise, but of one thing we can be certain - spices reign supreme. The complex flavours to be found in Indian dishes are reflected in the layers of aroma to be found in Scotch whisky. The organic compounds contained in spices such as cumin, cardamom, cloves or nutmeg to name but a few, are soluble in alcohol. So guess what? That's right! Whisky accentuates their flavour and gives you, the taster a more intense gastronomic experience! You don't believe me? Well come along and find out for yourself! Native Scot, Rachel Rennie & Canadian of North East Indian origin, Allen Rahman, invite you to Allen's home; Haque/ Rahman, Viale Cesare Pavese 304, Scala B, Int. 14, 00144 Rome, on Saturday March 20, 2010 from 18:30 - 21:00 hrs. for a tasting of four selected Scottish single malt whiskies paired with sophisticated (but substantial!) Indian 'street food' snacks. In the tradition of WhiskyWine&Words the malts and the snacks will be accompanied by entertaining and informative historical and cultural anecdotes. The cost of this promotional event will be €40. We ask you to put your €40 in cash in a sealed envelope with your name and email address printed clearly on the front and place it in the whisky barrel you will find when you come in. At the end of the evening we will draw one envelope from the barrel and there will be a prize for the lucky winner. This event will be conducted in English (with Italian 'sub-titles' for those who need them) for a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 28 guests. Please reserve your place no later than Wednesday March 17. You will receive email confirmation of the event on Thursday March 18. Should the event be oversubscribed your name will be at the top of the list for our April event. If you book and find that you are unable to attend, please let us know so that someone else can benefit. We look forward to seeing you! |
