A Resounding Success for Spirit of Scotland!
WHISKY TRAIL Tour the show with Single Malt Whisky Italia's expert guides. www.singlemaltwhisky.it Are you a newcomer to the world of whisky? Would you like to know more? For just €2 and the chance to exchange your tokens for drams around the stands, the Single Malt experts will guide you through the fascinating world of Scottish single malts. Hear the tales, uncover the secrets, learn how to 'nose' and taste the amber liquid distilled in the misty glens of Speyside and along the stormy shores of Islay. The first trail will leave from the I Love Laphroaig/Angel's Share stand on Saturday 10 March at 15:30 (give or take a few minutes). The second trail will leave from the same spot on Sunday 11 March at 11:30. No need to book. Just be in the right place at the right time! SMOKE & SPIRIT - WORKSHOP Saturday 10 March, 21:00 /Sunday 11 March 17:30 Velier and the 'toscano' cigar. A fantastic guided tour amid the history and the traditions of two symbols of the 'dolce vita'. Brush up on production techniques, serving styles and temperatures - all you need to know to join the smart set. The workshop will be presented by Velier, importer of a vast selection of Scotch and other whiskies, present at Spirit of Scotland with their own stand, and the Club Amici del Toscano present in a comfortable gazebo situated just outside the main entrance to the Aranciera. There will be no charge for this workshop but naturally places are limited. Reservations can be made exclusively during the Spirit of Scotland event at the Amici della Dolce Vita gazebo, open to smokers throughout the event with a selection of cigars to sample with a favourite malt. RUM TIME! The true spirit of Scotland, whisky aside, is one of welcome and hospitality and it is in this spirit that we have reserved a special place for the guest appearance of another great distillate - rum! On Sunday 11 March from 12:30 to 13:30 the independent bottlers Silver Seal, already present at the event with their single malts, invite you to taste a selection of their exclusive bottlings, including their Caroni 1997 from Trinidad, recently judged best rum of the year and awarded 90 points by Whisky Fun. There will be no charge for this tasting but naturally places are limited. Reservations can be made exclusively during the Spirit of Scotland event at the WHISKY ANTIQUE - SILVER SEAL stand. A great opportunity for a lucky few!
