'Scotch whisky is Scotland in a glass. It is a distillation
of our land, our harvest, our heritage and our culture. There are close to
a hundred distilleries in Scotland crafting over a thousand expressions of
the celebrated amber liquid. Our goal is to bring this unmistakable 'taste
of Scotland' to those who enjoy good living and share a passion for Scotland.'
Whisky Wine & Words offers a series of convivial tutored tastings which present
a unique insight into the intriguing world of Scotch whisky. Events are tailored
to cater for corporate entertainment, the whisky enthusiast and for groups
of like-minded friends who simply want to indulge in a novel food and drink
experience.
WHISKY EXTREMITIES...
Single malt whisky is distilled from only three ingredients - barley, yeast
and water - yet its spectrum of tastes and aromas can rival that of wine!
Experience whisky's extremities, from dramatic south Islay peat to elegant
Speyside sherry.
THE MYSTERY OF LOCATION...
Scotland is a patchwork of micro-regions and even subtle changes in terrain
or climate influence the character of the native malts. Explore Scotland's
heather-clad glens, golden barley fields and weather-beaten coastal crags
by savouring those malts which display the 'house styles' of the principal
whisky producing regions: Speyside, Highland, Lowland, Island and Islay.
WHISKY & WOOD...
Scotch whisky is revered for its astounding diversity of flavours and aromas.
It is now widely agreed that the most significant 'taste influencer' is the
maturation period. Savour a range of single malt whiskies which have gently
slumbered in casks that previously held fine sherry, bourbon, port, rum, cognac,
Bordeaux wine or even calvados!
Our events normally
cater for a maximum of 30 guests.
All levels of interest and all budgets
are catered for. Events can be tailored to suit the particular
requirements of any group.
To complement our whiskies we offer a
selection of Scottish or Italian side dishes.
Full whisky dinners can be arranged, pairing
whiskies with either traditional Scottish or Italian fare.
